New York: Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc., n.d. [1937]. 21cm, 14 p. VG+. Printed in black & white pictorial wraps, this scarce and collectible Cabell item was published in anticipation of his novel Smire. Cabell charts the novel's genesis and places it in the sequential context of the series, which also included Smirt and Smith. Wraps are gently rubbed w/ tiny crease to top corner. All pages are clean and unmarked w/ no tears or blemishes. James Branch Cabell wrote escapist and fantasy fiction and was well respected by many preeminent writers of his day: Twain, Mencken, Lewis, etc., although he's largely been forgotten today.
