 Monsieur Beaucaire FIRST THUS. New York: McClure, Phillips & Co., 1900. 8vo., 127 p., ill. VG/NF. Red cloth boards w/ dulled gilt title and design to front board and dulled gilt to spine. Boards are rubbed and one corner is slightly frayed. TEG. Deckle edges. Decorated endpapers. All pages are clean and unmarked. Color illustrations by C. D. Williams. Book is housed in a near fine, cloth, folding chemise, which fits into a beautiful, half morocco, half cloth slipcase w/ raised bands and bright gilt to spine. Some light rubbing to both morocco and cloth, else fine. Tarkington's second novel, which takes place in Bath during the 18th century.
